Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment?

We consider ourselves a “boutique salon” offering high quality services curated for each guest individually, because of this, reservations are required, same-day availability occur often so calling us day-of is also suggested.

Re-booking?

We recommend that you book your next appointment prior to leaving the salon in order to find a date and time that best fit your personal schedule.

Can I book a private party?

We’d be delighted to create a fun, relaxed, and luxurious beauty experience for you and your guests. To book a private nail party, please contact us in advance. Groups of three to five guests require a credit card upon time of booking. Any parties larger than five people must rent the space to accommodate their group.

How long does it take to remove gel?

To ensure that your gel polish is removed properly, please allow a time block of 15 minutes to complete this process. We wrap the nails with acetone and wait until they naturally lift to ensure the health of your nails isn’t compromised.

Too much acetone?

Acetone removes oils from the nail, but is not harmful to the nail plate itself. Picking or forcing gel off the nail causes trauma to the keratin layer which impacts the natural strength of healthy nails.

How long does gel polish last?

A typical gel manicure can last up to 14 days with proper nail care.

Are gel manicures bad for your nails?

Gel manicures are not bad for you as long as they are applied and removed correctly. The ultimate goal is to maintain the integrity of your natural nailbed.

What is the best way to maintain my manicure?

Keeping your cuticles and hands moisturized will keep your polish/gel from chipping and will also ensure a longer lasting manicure. Applying cuticle oil daily will also contribute to the health of your nails!

How often should I manicure my nails?

The time between services generally depends on how quickly your nails grow and your daily activities/lifestyle. It is best to receive a manicure at least every two weeks to ensure the health and maintenance of your nails. Also make sure you speak with your technicians about any nail questions or goals you may have as we are here to help you!

How do I prepare for my pedicure?

Pedicure clients are advised to not shave their legs for at least 24 hours prior to service. Flip flops are sold and advised to bring along. We strongly discourage wearing disposable slippers outside of our salon.

Do you offer regular polish?

Yes we offer a variety of regular polish options including our vegan non-toxic 5 Free nail lacquer. *Select breathable colors also available. Regular polish takes slightly longer to dry, so please plan for a few extra minutes after your service. Note that while polish may seem dry to the touch, it takes a full 12-24 hours for it to fully harden and cure.

Do you offer acrylic?

We do not offer acrylic enhancements or “dip acrylic powder” services.

What are your cleaning procedures?

We uphold the highest standards of hygiene at Nailbed & Bar™. Metal and glass tools, after each use, are thoroughly scrubbed with hot water and antibacterial soap to make sure there are no particles remaining. Following our scrub process they are then immersed in an EPA certified hospital-grade disinfectant. Our pedicure bowls are scrubbed down with antibacterial soap and hot water to remove all particles or debris followed by our disinfectant process after each use. All other surfaces, tables and chairs are also disinfected after each guest.
